Best Neighborhood for Tourists? (Bogotá)

Hola!

I will be traveling to Bogota the week of February 27th with 3 friends. We've been to Cartagena & rented an apartment in old town I believe (within the walls). Unfortunately, we had some problems with the apartment but were able to get through it. Therefore, I have a few questions. 1) Are La Candelaria & Macarena the best neighborhoods for an authentic feel of the city? 2) Are airbnb.com & vrbo.com the best sites for finding an apartment to rent in Bogota or are there better options?

The trip will mainly consist of sight seeing, dining, museums, nightlife, & lots coffee. We have already decided on visiting the Bogota Brewing Company as we brew beer ourselves. We are all working on our Spanish. I intend to move to Colombia once I improve my Spanish in hopes of teaching English. I appreciate any advice anyone can provide. I hope I did not misplace my post!
