Driving in Colombia (Bogotá)

Does anyone here know whether I am legally able to drive in Colombia with my UK Driving License, or whether I need to get an International Driving Permit first.
If so, the IDP only lasts 1 year, so I am assuming that I would need to pass a driving test in Colombia first, or not?
If anyone has any answers, I would be grateful.
