Moving to Colombia (Bogotá)

Hello,
My husband, an American citizen, and I are thinking of moving to Colombia with our 2 year old. He is a software developer and wonder what job opportunities there are in Colombia in his field. I've been living in US for 8 years and would love to move back. We would love to hear from other US citizens who have made this change. What's the most difficult or easiest of this change? I am originally from Armenia, Quindio - beautiful countryside with welcoming people- and know there would be almost to no job opportunities for him. What would be good place to live? I've thought of Medellin, but I haven't been there in a while and don't know what's like to live there.
I would greatly appreciate any input.
