Background
The Breteau Foundation aims to enable underprivileged children to reach their full potential through the delivery of digital education tools. The Foundation piloted their program in 3 schools in South Africa in July Protected content will expand into approximately 10 schools in Colombia and 10 schools in Sri Lanka in Protected content . This will be a period of learning, improving and networking for the Foundation – the start of a long term presence in this Country and region.
Job Description
The Program Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Foundation Program in their country. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Recommend schools / partners for our program in country and the region.
Setting up effective research for pre- and post-implementation.
Training teachers in schools.
Providing training materials for teachers and IT staff (in local language).
Provide IT support when necessary, liaising with IT manager in London.
Visiting schools regularly to receive feedback, further educate and train teachers, record best practices, share best practices from other schools, update Apps, etc.
Map the Breteau Foundation program to the local curriculum.
Share all feedback with the Breteau Foundation General Manager, making recommendations for how to improve the program.
Manage individual volunteers who will support the Foundation’s work.
Liaise with Google in country as needed to optimize program.
Source and manage local suppliers of hardware and accessories.
Manage the process of shipping and receiving tablets from the UK.
Becoming a respected member of the Education community, networking with businesses, NGOs and government.
Act as the Breteau Foundation’s Ambassador in Country.
Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience. Teaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge and understanding of early childhood education.
Strong knowledge of technology used in Education.
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
Local language skills required.
Experience in and knowledge of education system in country preferred.
Passion for and belief in our mission. High ethical standards and personal integrity.
The Program Manager will need to spend approximately Protected content in London and/or in South Africa to receive training. Travel will be required as needed to visit schools in country regularly as well as HQ in London and in the Region. The Program Manager will have access to local AsiaInspection and/or local partner offices should they wish to work in an office.
