Florence or Rimini? (Bologna)

Hey, guys,
I am not really sure if the question should be asked here but I cannot find another place to ask. I am planning to visit Italy around Christmas. I will fly from Sofia to Bologna and after that I'll travel by train to Florence or Rimini. What disturbs me is the fact that Rimini is a seaside resort. Is it worthy to visit it in the winter?
