The Bonn English Singers search a new conductor !
Could this be you, or someone you know? The Bonn English Singers are looking for a new choir director (starting 1rst of April Protected content .
We are an English-speaking mixed choir. We stand out from other choirs in
Germany with our wide-ranging repertoire of English-language choral
music, both secular and sacred („no gospel“). In addition to well-known choral
works, we regularly perform pieces by composers whose works are not
often heard in Germany, such as Edward Elgar, Charles Villiers Stanford, and
Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Among our cherished musical traditions are services of Choral Evensong and
the annual Anglican services of Nine Lessons and Carols each December.
A more recent tradition is our annual Christmas concert, featuring new
arrangements of Christmas songs alongside much-loved classic carols.
Our origins are in the choir of the former British Embassy in Bonn. Today we
have around 30 active members from around the world and our own
international profile. Rehearsals take place in English.
We are looking for a choir director with a high level of musical ability, and a
talent for combining discipline and a sense of fun, to lead our weekly
