Moving from UK to Boston with a 5 year old

Hi everyone
We are looking at moving to Boston in September, when my daughter would normally be starting year 1 in the UK (she has just finished her Reception year).
In Boston, it appears she would have to start over and do Kindergarten as they start school a year later. Has anyone been in this position and do you have any advice about how to handle this?
She is already reading at a very good level and we may be moving back to the UK in two years, so I wouldn't want her to lose a year. I'm thinking maybe topping her up with home schooling resources on the weekend (she's bright) but I'd be grateful for anyone's experiences with this as I'm worried she'll be very bored essentially repeating a grade. I'm also looking into private schools but I'm not sure whether any of them would be any more flexible on the age requirements for entering Grade 1 in the US.
Thanks,
Felicia
