Driving a UK car in Slovakia (Bratislava)

I'm about to move to Bratislava and trying to find out the rules around validity of UK insurance and whether I need to register my car with the Slovak authorities and, if so, how long do I have to do this.
There doesn't seem to be a site that gives any definitive answers, so any help would be great.
