Lease agreement for Residence Permit (Bratislava)

Hello!

How did you deal with the requirement to present a notarised lease agreement when applying for residence permit (from non-EU countries). Did you find a landlord who agreed with you many months in advance on the lease or used some hotel/residence booking for residence and then looked for an apartment? did you get notary certified copy of the lease in your home country or in Slovakia? Via landlord?
