thinking about a move to Brighton

Hello,
We're an American family. My husband has dual citizenship (American and Irish). Our 15 year old daughter would like to finish up her high school education in England, possibly doing the IB program at Varndean. We are heading to the UK in a few weeks for some sixth form "taster days" and a couple of interviews.

If we do this, it would be the year after next. I can take early retirement from my job; so we'd have a small pension and some savings. Having said that, we'd probably need to find part-time jobs. We've taught English to non-native speakers. I've spent about 25 years in the environmental sector.

I'd love to hear from other expats to see what life is like. I have questions on health insurance, but will wait on that for now.
