Advice on areas and schools (Brisbane)

Hi,...my husband is being transferred to Brisbane and we will be moving in mid January from Calgary with our 3 kids, ages 9,7, and 4. We are an active family and would love to be in a community with other young families, .....and coming from our chilly climate, would love to be near the river, ocean or beaches. School is certainly an influence though and we are looking at options for private and public state schools. I would prefer co-Ed schooling to keep my kids together. We are also interested in keeping our kids involved in activities such as dance, gymnastics, soccer, piano, and ice hockey,...if anyone has any recommendations on these and which areas we can locate them. I am also interested in getting involved with women's soccer or tennis. Looking forward to our initial trip to Brisbane in a few days to house hunt and look for schools.
