Meeting in Bristol

Hello all ! I'm planning to leave France to go try and live in the UK. I'm visiting Bristol from the 14th to the 17th of May, to see if I might like the city and see myself live there.
So far, I know no one there. Could anyone recommend some places or neighborhoods to visit since I don't know the city at all ?
Would anyone know how to find a job in the cinema and entertainment market ? I worked as a script supervisor and a location manager for many years in Paris, and would like to get back to this work field !
