Long-Term Stay vs Visa (Brno)

Hi. I'm new to the community (and new to the CR)... I recently registered with the foreign police and, at the same time, put in my request for Long-Term stay with my wife (who is a Czech citizen).

Does anybody have experience with the process? If I've put in for Long-Term stay, do I still need to apply for a Visa? Is the process different for me because I've been married to a citizen for 17 years?
