Is Brunei right for us?

Hi,

Would like some advice please. I am a British single mum with two children age 8 and 10. I am an English Language teacher and have lived and worked overseas in lots of different countries for many years so the expat life is not new to me. Right now I've just finished a contract with the British Council in Ipoh, Malaysia and I am staying here for the next 6 months or so to (hopefully) complete my PhD which is in Applied Linguistics.

I am now thinking that, for the sake of my children's education, I would like to go somewhere we settle for the next few years. I have been appalled at the international schools in Malaysia and am determined to make our next move to somewhere that really does provide excellent education beyond the glitzy websites.....I would really like to know about the real quality of international schools in Brunei.

I would also like to know about the possibility of having maids/nanny either live in or out as this is essential for me.

Any other thoughts, tips or advice would also be appreciated.
