On March 11, Ted Corcoran DTM will lead the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Brussels–the Capital of Belgium and the European Union and the cause of good leadership in the world we live in. Ted will be the fourth Parade Grand Marshal in recognition of his contribution to the growth of Toastmasters in Europe and around the world. The Parade Committee recognise his efforts in promoting the importance of leadership and communication training at a time of a leadership deficit in all facets of social, political and economic life in Europe.

Ted Corcoran is a native of Kerry in Ireland. Ted attended Fossa National School and Saint Brendan’s College, Killarney and the Irish Management Institute, Dublin.
He spent all his working life with Irish Rail ending up as Head of Safety for the entire organisation until his retirement in Protected content a senior manager he gained extensive experience in leadership, communications, management practice and working with people. Married to Celine, they have two daughters. Sinead is married to a Norwegian and lives outside Oslo while Claire is married and lives near the family in Dublin. Ted has an eclectic range of interests - sport, especially GAA, golf (this year Vice Captain of Forrest Little Golf Club near Dublin Airport) He likes travel, current affairs, history, reading, the list goes on and on!

Ted joined Toastmasters International Protected content world’s leading communication and leadership organisation – in Protected content . Following a successful global election campaign – ‘ElecTed’ – he served as the organisation’s International President in Protected content first European to hold this position!) after having served as District Governor of the UK and Ireland, and International Director for the rest of the world outside North America for two years.

He is author of the Leadership Bus –How to be a Truly Effective and Successful Leader.

From there on, it is necessary to continue working very hard to keep the team united and totally task focused until the goals are achieved.

The Chief Aide to the Grand Marshal will be Keza Ryan, President of the Claddagh Toastmasters Club of Brussels.

Toastmasters in a non profit leadership organisation with a membership of 270,000 strong where members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 13,000 clubs that makes up a global network of meeting locations. Every one is welcome to join in the Parade “Wear the Green” and be Irish for the day! Toastmaster Members will also be participating in the Parade to help raise an awareness of Toastmasters –where Leaders are made.
