TEDxFlanders’ 10th Anniversary

TEDxFlanders is celebrating a unique milestone with its 10th anniversary. It was the first independently organised TEDx event in Belgium.

The TEDxFlanders’ Licensee and Organiser is Ellen Wezenbeek, who also launched TEDxFlandersWomen five years ago as well as TEDxFlandersYouth. These TEDxFlanders’ projects are still active. There will be a TEDxFlandersWomen event in December Protected content . Stay tuned for more info.

Let´s celebrate TEDxFlanders’ 10th anniversary together: “NOW”

“NOW” is a call to understand the present moment in all its complexity.

The theme “NOW” is especially relevant as it is an opportunity to reflect on the world we are living in today. We look back on the past, our history and where we came from. Then we look forward to the future and reflect on what we want to do. However, it takes courage to be present in the here and “NOW”, because nothing else really matters.

This “NOW” event will take you on a journey with eight extraordinary speakers and two show-stopping acts from Belgium and around the world. The TEDxFlanders’ speakers are the most progressive thinkers, dreamers and doers of our time. They are here to inspire you with their stories. They come from diverse fields from technology and science to social change and sustainability. Our events are fully inclusive and open to people from all walks of life, so come and celebrate with us!

From 17:00, doors will open and food trucks will be parked outside deSingel so you can grab a bite before the programme begins at 18:00.

A warm welcome to our newbies and a little info on what TED is all about:
TED is the acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design. It is a nonprofit organisation devoted to spreading ideas in the form of short, powerful talks that are 18 minutes or less. TED was founded in Protected content a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) converged. Today, it covers almost all topics from science to business to global issues in more than Protected content .

Since Protected content , local communities have been able to organise and coordinate their own TEDx events independently. The content and design of each event is also developed independently, hence the 'x' in TEDx. These events have live speakers and performances, which cover a wide range of subjects, with the purpose of inspiring attendees and provoking conversations in the wider community. Everything we do is driven by one goal: How can we best spread great ideas? Protected content

And what is TEDxFlandersWomen?

TEDxFlandersWomen was founded by Ellen Wezenbeek in Protected content . It was one of the projects TEDxFlanders launched. It was successful in bringing women together in Flanders on topics of their interest. Our events are open to people from all walks of life and are in English.

TEDxFlandersWomen used to be one of the Protected content hosted on the same day as TEDWomen Global. That event focused on women and women’s issues. They were built around the live webcast of TEDWomen Global and could also feature local speakers.
