shipping a package from Bucharest

Dear Expats, today I had to send a small package to Vienna - less than 1 kg and no need for express. I could not find any service provider in Bucharest (post office included) who would handle that for less than Protected content (UPS). Is anybody aware of a cheaper solution? THANK YOU !!!!! Klaus
