Egg tempera has been one of the oldest painting techniques in the Western visual depiction. It was widely used in Europe till the 15th century, when it was overtaken by oil-paint. Nowadays, this technique is still used, mainly in Orthodox icon painting and by some contemporary artists.
At this course you will learn: ● How to prepare and paint with your own egg tempera ● How to choose the right painting brushes and canvases ● How to make skin glue and your own Italian gesso ● How to prepare your panel for painting
The course will be taught by Dr. Barbara Guttman, a contemporary artist and art educator.
