Speaking English in Budapest?

Hi all,

I'm considering moving to Budapest in August, probably for a year. I was wondering if you all could let me know how important you believe it is to learn Hungarian? I've read that it's one of the hardest languages to learn for an English speaker so want to figure out how necessary it is to make the effort of learning more than some phrases? I should note that I'm expecting to spend most of my time in Budapest, at least for work purposes.
