Marriage between an Argentine and an American (Buenos Aires)

Hello there!

So, my boyfriend and I decided to get married in Argentina, and in order for him to get permanent residence rights through me, he is required to submit a criminal background check for the whole country (U.S.). Has anyone here ever been through the same kind of paperwork? Or do you know any Americans who have married an Argentine and then requested residency rights in Argentina? Apparently it's possible to request an FBI background check, but it takes 15 weeks to be returned to the requester. Anyhow, any thoughts on the issue will be highly appreciated!
