Egypt Post?? (Cairo)

Hi. Has anyone ever sent a parcel from Egypt using Egypt Post or one of the courier firms? I want to dispatch something to Australia to avoid airline excess baggage charges but the unaccompanied baggage option is something like $450 for 20kg!!
Courier firms are vague and evasive especially when I say it does not need to go priority - it can take one month to get there as long as it gets there!! Advice would be welcomed.
