New in Cairo

Good morning to all, we just arrived here in Cairo for almost 3 days and have not gone out yet from the hotel. My husband is working here in the Semiramis Intercontinental and would like to get an advise from you about living in City Garden. I know this is not an appealing place to stay but he needs to be closer to the hotel since his working hours are quite long . Anyone in the forum lives in the same area? Also, I have a dog with us in the hotel room and any recommendations for Vet or Kennel nearby Zamalek?
