The Big Move (Cairo)

Alright so I am officially moving to Cairo from Texas in April;
I need advice on what to bring and things I should take care of before hand? I know I can find pretty much everything I need there but I just want to double check to see if there is anything anyone wishes they would have done beforehand.

I'm well travelled but this will be my first time to live abroad without a study abroad program.

I am also looking for a good tutor that can teach me the Egyptian dialect. I can read Arabic already and know some fus'ha but it's a little rusty. I'll be living in Ma'adi so I would prefer someone in that area.
