"To Kill A Mockingbird" author, Harper Lee, dies at 89 years old.
The book deals with the racial tensions of the deep South and nuances of dealing with, "the other." Those who are not like us and presumed dangerous or guilty. The intricately woven issues were published in Protected content won the Pulitzer prize in Protected content the movie won the Protected content Award, starring the late-great Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, based on Harper Lee's father and the superb acting of African American star, Brock Peters. This book with its bold subject matter of racial justice was widely acclaimed during the turbulent racial climate of the Protected content and the marches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Our inheritance from "To Kill A Mockingbird," allows us to read her treasure house and hope for a Harper Lee for these turbulent times.
