Trip to Cairo

I was planning my first trip to Egypt... And wanted to start with Cairo but then I realized 3 days willl fall into Eid al-Adha. so my question is that would it be a bad time, more crowded streets, hard to get to the museums?!
And most importantly is it safe for a women to travel alone?
