Introduction + Any good hotel suggestions? (Calcutta)

Hi guys!
My name is Anastasia, I'm from Russia but live in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. I study Tibetan language and Buddhism, and work as a translator from/into Tibetan-English-Russian.
I'm coming to Calcutta in the end of September with my friend for whom this trip to India will be the first ever, and I really want her to enjoy her stay short in India. So I'm willing to find a good (but not too expensive) hotel in a nice and clean part of the city. Do you have any suggestions? Preferably close to parks and good restaurants.
