On Saturday, August 13, Protected content , a small island in the middle of an Albertan oil capital transforms into heat, rhythm, soul: Africa. Join us at Prince’s Island Park for the climax of the Afrikadey! Festival, a celebration of African art and culture. Introduce yourself to Africa, if you haven’t done so already. Meet its mouth-watering food, beautiful crafts, and talented performers.

For Afrikadey! veterans, the following description will conjure up memories of festivals past; for newbies, it is a brief synopsis of the spectacular showcase. Impromptu cultural entertainment will spring up in the grass between our mind-blowing main stage acts: Angélique Kidjo, Shad and Nomfusi. Hand-made African wares will be sold in the international marketplace as well as delicious African food. Dances will be had, feet will be tapped, and you will probably meet quite a character or ten!

Admission is free for children under 12 and adults over 65. Adult tickets are $25 and youth/student tickets are $20.

Groups of 10 or more can save 15% if tickets are purchased at the Afrikadey! Festival Office.
