Looking for a GP / Family Doctor (Calgary)

It's been six months since I started looking for a family doctor. How do I find a good doctor in this city? I used the listing of doctors that take new patients and any time I call, doctor is either no longer accepting new patients or is no longer practicing. I don't want to go to walk in clinics, that's silly. What experience do you all have around this issue?
