New to Calgary (well, High River really!)

Hi, I'm a Scottish woman who has recently moved to High River, work in Calgary. My colleagues are mostly male and I've not been in Canada long enough to make any friends. Just looking for relaxed, fun company - preferably with women (I'm not singlle). There is something a woman gets from being in the company of other women that I am missing since we moved. I've looked for book clubs (cant find any!) and have joined a gym (doesn't hurt to get fitter!). When younger I would have met people through socialising (where you would go with a friend and make new friends - catch 22!), education (been there, done that), or work (small company, almost all male). Charity work (for lots of other reasons also) seems to have a big assed wall to deal with too! Can anyone suggest anything?
