Vancouverite relocating to Calgary

Hi,
I'm presently based in Vancouver and preparing to relocate to Calgary next month. There are so much to do (clearing stuff, packing, moving arrangement, etc.) for the move.

At the same time, I'm applying for jobs while I'm still here but this never seem to get anywhere. I am a designated accountant in Canada and have a few years of working experience in Vancouver. Ideally, getting a job before my move will help to decide where I can live. However, this hasn't happen just yet and time is running out for me.

Would appreciate it if anyone can give me some guidance on accommodation, job market, networking events, etc Thanks in advance.
