Bike theft rates in Cambridge?

Hello InterNationers!
I'm about to move to Cambridge (at the end of September, to do a masters) and I am now thinking about bringing my bicycle to avoid the hassle of having to buy one. But, as I have a decent bike, I would like to know how often bikes get stolen? I have a good lock, but that does not always help.
Also, the best way to bring the bike from the airport to Cambridge would be by train, right?
Would appreciate any thoughts you have on this.
Hope to join an event in late September/October!
