Questions before visiting (Cancún)

Hi,

We are living at the moment in Sosua Dominican Republic since three years.
With 'we' I mean, me, my husband and our 7 dogs of which a few are guard dogs.

I would like to know a bit more about the region of Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
I visited the area about 25 years ago so a lot will be changed for sure.

We are planning to visit the area in a couple of months to see if we can feel the vibe to make a move from the DR to Mexico.

Any input you have would be appreciated.
