Aussie perspective (Cape Town)

Hello, I am looking for the Australian take on living in South Africa. I am writing a comtemporary novel about an Australian woman who marries a South African.
What did you find socially & culturally easy & difficult to adjust ?
I have never been, however have SA expat friends living in Australia. Their insights are valuable, but your info from the opposite direction would be appreciated. Thanks Jackie.
About me: I am a registered nurse by profession & live in Corowa NSW. My hobbies are horses, writing, arts, sailing, snowboarding, camping & fishing.
