Re-expatriating next week! (Cape Town)

Hello all,

I was born in Cape Town, but grew up in the US. Thirty years later my folks are retiring back to SA and I'm coming with them. So I'm an expat to both places? A re-expat? A #rexpat?

I have some but not much in the way of memories, experience, etc. in SA, so I feel like an American going into the great unknown. I will be doing the freelance web and graphic design thing (currently web designer for a university). We have a place to stay while we look for a house.

Excited and scared and omg this is happening.

Any tips for house hunting or buying a car (particularly used vs new), as those will be priorities?
