Retirement Income (Cape Town)

I would be extremely grateful if someone would clarify what the required monthly income is for a married couple wishing to retire in SA. I have seen various figures from various websites indicating R Protected content made up from a pension,annuities, etc etc. In addition, whatever the requirement does that refer to one or both applicants and finally can this requirement be met by combination of, for example, a pension and savings!!!
