Moving to Caracas, Venezuela

Hi,

I am an Aussie who is going to be moving to Caracas in Venezuela end of August to live.

Can anyone tell me what the lifestyle is like there?
For example:

Safety tips/travel.
Areas that are very good socially (bars, restaurants etc).
Can you get invited to the Embassy nights?....
Climate

Any additional info about life in Caracas would be greatly appreciated.
