Emanuela's team 27 miles trek (Cardiff)

Hi all,

Take a large slice of hills, three crazy youngsters, a spoonful of dedication and see what happens…!

When we were given the opportunity to be part of the Trekfest challenge in the Peak District on the 5th of September, we united together to form a team (“Let’s jump to the Peaks”) ready to take the 27 miles trek challenge. We are three friends - coming from Cardiff and London - passionate about walking, willing to give the Midlands a taste of what the South is made of. The preparation to that fantastic challenge required some simple ingredients: 20% unity, 20% skill, 20% concentrated power of will, 20% luck on the weather and a 20% pleasure/pain (depending on how quickly you can develop blisters). To make things easier we will require however, a little help from our friends!

Beyond our shared love for walking in landscapes such as the Peak District, whose outstanding beauty has no peers but its hills, this is a great occasion for us to raise money for the amazing charity that is RedR. Another charity you would say – well RedR (Register of Engineer for Disaster Relief) is quite unusual in the sense that it does not only provide support when a disaster hits a community, but it also focuses on capacity building and disaster risk reduction by offering the chance to the relief workers to undertake training programs and thereby ensuring that skilled professionals are always available to respond to major global emergencies. Guess it sounds like a decent motive to endure a little bit of pain.

Now that we've successfully completed the 27 miles trek in the Peaks in an amazing 10.5 hours we would like to ask your help for the other part of the challenge! If you are a charitable soul and would like to support us you can do it here:
