Coming to Philippines for first time. (Cebu City)

Hi everyone. I'm coming to Cebu on 22 Jan and staying till 5 March. I'm coming partly for a break from Canadian winter and also to check out the Philippines as a possible place to move to. I want to get an idea of nice areas to live and where best beaches are etc. I need fairly good internet if I end up living here so I can stay in good contact with my factory in Canada. Any advice is appreciated.
