Females in Chennai

Hi there -

I'm moving to Chennai from NYC in August and would love the forums advice on what it is like living in Chennai as a female travelling alone. Do you have tips on daily life in Chennai/ especially around where to live/what type of living situation (roommates/hostel/etc?) I am working with a company that is going to setup my housing but I can input my preferences as well. It is well appreciated to hear about your experiences.
