Visa Extension - Tax receipts required? (Chennai)

Hi all,
I went to the FRRO to apply for extension, and they are telling me that i need to give a copy of the receipts received from the government when the company deposits my taxes.

But, the company will not give me these, they're telling me Form 16 is enough.

Do i really need to give these? or can i just go without them and convince the guy at the FRRO to take my application without those ?
