Coming to town (Chiang Mai)

G'day All
Will be doing a exploratory trip to Chiang Mai for a couple of weeks starting 15 April with a eye to retiring here, like to meet up with some proper expats, wherever they meet and get a feel for the place, I was there several years ago on a quick trip but understand the expat community is pretty vigourous.
Also would like to be able to volunteer teaching TESOL, I am qualified, and any commercial cookery tasks, I'm a long time chef.. few other things too, but can discuss later.
Two weeks isn't much right now, I have until end of June before I have to go back to Oz for a bit but plan on returning on a education visa before the retirement one..
