I REMEMBER BETTER WHEN I PAINT details innovative new therapies for Alzheimer’s disease sufferers, which engage undamaged areas of the brain through exposure to the creative arts. Painting, drawing, and museum visits are all seen to contribute to an improved quality of life and a restoration of some degree of memory and personality. Interviews include noted medical authorities in the field of Alzheimer’s care, and Yasmin Aga Khan, president of Alzheimer’s Disease International and daughter of Rita Hayworth.

A panel discussion follows the screening. Panelists include: Berna Huebner, Director, Hilgos Foundation and co-director of the film; Dr. Lawrence Lazarus, Past-President, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry; Jenny Graf Sheppard, artist/educator; and Dr. Avertano Noronha, Associate Professor, Department of Neurology, University of Chicago.
