Bringing UK transport(Motor cycle) to Germany (Cologne)

I am exploring bringing my motorcycle over next month, it is registered in the UK but easily adapted for EU riding.My insurance is valid for 90 days in Germany.
However after that, would I need to register the bike in Germany, return it "home" or attempt to extend the insurance?
Oh and is my full UK license valid in Germany, it is for a car but not so sure for 2 wheels.
Any help would be most appreciated....Spring is coming.
