Dogs and ticks (Cologne)

Hi everyone,

We moved to cologne 4 weeks ago from Australia and bought our dogs with us. We have been using a flea/parasite treatment for our dogs which we bought over from Australia - however we found a tick on one of our dogs today. We removed the tick, but we are worried now as this means the flea/parasite control that we have from Aus, doesn't seem to prevent against ticks.

Can anyone recommend a good product for flea and tick prevention for dogs that we can get in Germany. I've also searched the Fressnapf site and they don't seem to sell preventative products. Will we have to go to a vet in order to get the appropriate product?
