New to this forum (Cologne)

Hi, I recently joined this forum but I haven't really done anything on it yet. I hope someone can advise me a bit. I am a British citizen, my boyfriend is German, currently living near Frankfurt but he is from the Cologne area and trying to move back there. So I am looking at potentially moving to that area too. I have a lot of experience living as an expat and am trained as a translator and an EFL teacher. HOWEVER, I am 42, worried that my age will be used against me, and I have not got very much experience in translation and my teaching experience is quite old. I have about lower intermediate level German which I am working on. I can also offer Russian and French which I am much more proficient in. Does anyone have any advice about work I could get in Germany and particularly around Cologne? Is there much of an expat network there? many thanks in advance!
