Children Adjusting To Life in Sri Lanka (Colombo)

Hi , we are coming to live in Sri Lanka in August. Anyone have any tips on how children can adjust please? Primarily my son doesn't like the heat. My daughter on the other hand loves it. I wondered how they would cope in a class of 30 with no A/C. Also do any members have children in C.I.S Colombo? The other main concern is the mosquitos, we all react severely to the bites (apart from my husband who is from Sri Lanka and they tend to leave him alone). Any advise would be much appreciated.
