IMPORT a DOG to Sri Lanka? (Colombo)

Hi Everyone! Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

I'm moving to Galle in April, and I am bringing my 2 year old Dalmatian.

Has anyone done this? Tonight my biggest question is that on the web the Embassy states the customs on a pet is about Protected content plus another small fee, and a SL pet relocation company has told me it is USD $1,500 to $2,000!!!!

Have you done this....what was your experience? Thanks for any responses!!
