Job summary
Management of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) business lines, namely: Corporate Services (mission administration, finance, personnel, procurement, property, and materiel management), and Consular Affairs (tbc - under review).

Area of Selection / Closing date
This position is open to individuals who reside in Denmark, or the Oresund Region, are eligible to work in Denmark, who meet all of the essential requirements stated below, and whose applications are received by the closing date.

Those candidates holding visas must ensure that the expiry date of their visa exceeds the one-year probationary period, and they are responsible for any extensions. The Embassy of Canada does not sponsor work permit applications on behalf of candidates.

The Embassy does not reimburse any travel costs to and from interview nor does it reimburse any relocation costs.

Essential Qualifications
Candidates will be screened on the essential qualifications below and must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the Language, Education, and Experience requirements.

Accepted profiles: English Essential

Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or college with a major in commerce, business or public administration.

• Recent* experience in a minimum of three Protected content the following areas in government or in private sector company:

- Finance
- Human Resources
- Real Property Management
- Materiel Management
- Procurement
- Consular Affairs / Emergency Management

• Minimum of two Protected content of recent* experience in supervision of at least three Protected content .

Note: Experience in supervision means supervising others directly and/or overseeing work by others who do not necessarily report to you.

• Experience in researching issues, analyzing information, in writing comprehensive reports and making recommendations.

*Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.

Knowledge of:
• Generally-accepted principles, regulations, policies, procedures and practices in the public and private sectors in at least three Protected content the following areas: (Note: Two Protected content must be the same as the area listed under experience):

- Finance
- Human Resources
- Real Property Management
- Materiel Management
- Procurement
- Consular Services/Emergency Management
- Information and Technology Management

• Must possess a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).

Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their cover letter.

• Bilingual (English and French)

• Experience working for a High Commission or an Embassy.
• Experience working for the Government of Canada.

Knowledge of:
• The department’s (DFAIT) organizational structure and programs as established through the various Branches/ Bureaus/Divisions/Missions.

Conditions of employment
Any job offer is subject to receipt of satisfactory employment and character references and the ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability Security Screening; including a criminal record and credit check.
