Travelling with an animal from NYC to Dakar on SAA

Hi all,

I will be moving to Dakar in late March of this year and want to bring my cat. I am flying out of NYC with a connecting flight at ATL then to Dakar on SAA. I'm a little concerned about the courrier transport of my cat, but I'm having difficulty finding a good home for her here in New York and if you're an animal lover, you can empathize with the dilemma that I am facing . So my question, did any of you travel to Dakar with a dog or cat, or know someone who has? Can you find good food for your animal in Dakar? Is it supper dupper expensive?
