Ride preparation
When biking during summertime, take plenty of water / Gatorade with you and leave early (7/8 am) if you're planning to ride for a long time. The heat will get you! Remember to wear plenty of sunscreen. Also, it is good to ride with a group if you're riding on country roads. Not because it is dangerous per se, but in case you fall down and fracture some bones (like undersigned), you won't be alone. A good idea is also to carry a spare tube and CO2 cartridge with you if you're riding a road bike. There are plenty of sharp objects on the roads. Traffic can be quite aggressive on the roads, bike trails and country roads are most relaxing to ride on. If you plan to ride during dusk/dawn/in the dark, you will need to solemnly swear to me to wear something reflecting and have your bike properly equipped with reflectors and lights!

Races
There are plenty in Texas and neighboring states! A little google search will prove it. One of the famous ones is Hotter'N Hell 100, Protected content in Wichita Falls in August. Guaranteed HOT!

Enjoy your rides!
